ENDEAVOUR, SHEFFIELD (MARCH 2007)
The Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation has donated £1,500 to Endeavour to fund new equipment for the centre. The donation has enabled Endeavour to purchase new archery sets, targets, climbing ropes and a variety of protective outdoor clothing.
Endeavour helps disadvantaged young people in Yorkshire and the West and East Midlands to overcome challenges and learn new skills in activities such as rock climbing and canoeing. The team of volunteers provide structured programmes offering practical and challenging experiences giving those involved the chance to realise their potential. Endeavour projects work towards building self-esteem and increasing the skills and confidence of young people to encourage a successful transition into adulthood.
Shaunagh Carroll, senior fundraiser at Endeavour, commented, "The kind donation from the Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation has made a huge impact on Endeavour. The children have already benefited from the new equipment and are having a wonderful time testing it all out."
Allison Edgeler, branch manager of Skipton's Sheffield branch, on behalf of the Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation, added, "It's fantastic that we have been able to help such a great cause. It is vital that organisations such as Endeavour receive the funding they need, so the service they offer can continue to help thousands more disadvantaged young people. Our Charitable Foundation aims to make a real difference to people's lives and any registered charities that are looking for help can pick up an application form from their nearest Skipton branch." |
