REACTIVATE, WREXHAM (OCTOBER 2007)

The Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation has donated £1,756 to Reactivate in Wrexham to fund sound equipment which will be used in productions for children with special needs. The performances, which include traditional pantomimes and Shakespeare workshops, tour around specialist schools throughout the country allowing children to feel at ease in a familiar environment, enabling them to join in with the various participatory elements. The productions provide immense enjoyment and benefits for disabled children such as assisting with speech and language.

Reactivate works with children across England and Wales who have emotional or behavioural problems, learning difficulties, physical disabilities and those with hearing or sight problems. Four of the schools cater solely for children with sensory deprivation. Reactivate is based in Wrexham, North Wales, where it continues to develop its drama centre, working closely with children with special needs.

Linda Robertson, Chair of Trustees, commented, "This donation will make a huge difference to the quality of drama experience for the children. Thank you Skipton!"

Sharon Eaton, branch manager of Skipton's Chester branch, on behalf of the Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation, added, "We are delighted to have been able to donate to such a worthy cause and hope that the children will benefit from the performances. Our Charitable Foundation aims to make a real difference to people's lives and any registered charities that are looking for help can pick up an application form from their nearest Skipton branch."
